The garden of Pere Lathuille

This painting caught my eye today, funny because it's all about eye contact.
I love the way the man is looking intensely at the woman, as she rather snootily looks back
and how the waiter has eye contact with the viewer.

Lend me a tenner?

I've come to the conclusion that I am just bad with money.

I want to go to Kidzania!

Just read about Kidzania, a mini city built in Tokyo that lets kids play out grown up fantasies, they can pretend to be a policeman, chef, newsreader or nurse.

It has been built with its own child-size
buildings, and kids have cash cards and
kidzania money to use there!

I would have loved this when I was a kid...

I had to rely totally on my and my sisters imagination when I was playing grown-ups.
I remember pretending to be a barmaid, serving drinks across an ironing board... (Then as a real grown up I worked in bars and found it slightly less glamorous than I had imagined)

I think I would want to try being an air hostess, that would be cool...

Rain, Rain, Rain

It was monsoon season in London last night.

I was stuck coming home from a hen night only to find that my tube station was closed because it was 'flooded'!
I had to get the bus and walk... in the rain :(

On my way I got into a conversation with some Aussies, who had just arrived in London.
They had been doing all the tourist sites, in the pouring rain, and I had to assure them that it really doesn't rain like this all the time!

Yesterday's downpour doesn't do much for the myth that its always raining in London,
even though I read somewhere that we actually have less rainfall than Rome, Sydney and Istanbul.

Free comics in Observer/ Guardian

I loved, loved, loved the Beano and Dandy when I was a kid!
I also remember having a Bunty annual that me and my sister read a thousand times.

Wish I was here...

Cigarettes

I smoked so much when I was away that im now craving them like crazy.
So silly cos I was doing so well at giving up,
there is just something about beer and red wine that makes me unable to resist smoking, and there was a lot of both on holiday.

I want a polaroid camera...

I miss polaroids, they remind me of my childhood...
My Dad had one when he lived abroad, and I remember being so excited at the idea of instant photos and watching the image slowly appear.
Now with digital cameras you see your image instantly anyway, and the magic has gone...
:(

back to work :(
