Mixtape Wednesdays part 2

Two of my favourite ever songs,
Kinks, Waterloo sunset

and the Mystery jets- Flakes (there is also an awesome Florence and the machine cover of this song) I think they're brilliant, (I once saw Blane and Henry outside my window!-they grew up just down the road from me)
"this song, is one I never thought that I would play"

Happy Burns night!

A Rose-bud by my early walk,
Adown a corn-enclosed bawk,
Sae gently bent its thorny stalk,
All on a dewy morning.
Ere twice the shades o' dawn are fled,
In a' its crimson glory spread,
And drooping rich the dewy head,
It scents the early morning.

Shadows on the Thames

Buildings and trees casting their shadows over the Thames... Yet again, I've found some interesting images on Google maps!

Snowflakes

Images of the first ever snowflake photographs by Wilson A Bentley, from the late 19th century.
They are on sale at the moment, I think they are beautiful.

1. Celeb Big Brother
Loving: Jonas and Sisqo
Hating: Stephanie and Vinnie

2. Being Human

3. Babylon 5 (Now I live with my parents I watch my Mum's sci-fi!)

4. Take me out (TOTAL cheese TV)

5. The Wire (Kinda cheating cos its on DVD but I'm loving it)

Light at the end of the tunnel...

Love this installation by Yochai Matos.
Its so cool,
its like a rip in the fabric of reality, a gateway to another existence.
Its like the image in my head from reading loads of sci-fi novels...

love it...

Salt n Pepa

When clearing out my flat I found this single on tape,
it was one of my first tapes at about 7 years old!

Living with the parents...

I moved everything JW and I own into one room in my parents house this weekend.
It was stressful and dotted with arguements, but its done,
and I even managed to sell some of my furniture.
I just have to keep in my head the reason I'm doing this.
I have to keep reminding myself that I wouldn't be able to even think about travelling if I was still paying rent.
Everything is settled, but its all going to take some getting used to ( I got told off for leaving a cup in the living room, and having a long shower!)
It honestly feels like being a teenager again, only now I have to get up early and go to work :(

snow snow and more snow

I'm feeling a bit torn.

When I woke up this morning and discovered that there was yet again a fresh layer of snow covering London, my first reaction was that excited feeling somewhere inbetween my throat and my stomach.

But then the grown up part of me remembered...

1. I have to go to work anyway, and if the tubes aren't running I will have to walk

2. It is colder than a very cold thing in my flat because it is a 1930's built block, designed to be heated by a fireplace and has only one tiny radiator

3. I am moving house tomorrow. Eeek!

snow day please?!

London is covered in snow! There is a real snow blizzard going on (ok, so in comparison to some places its not much, but for London this is pretty impressive!)

My mean boss wont let us leave early though, so lots of of might end up snowed in -If we do I think we'll go to the pub ;)
AND, she said I should walk home if my trains aren't working! Mean, mean boss!!!

Happy New Year!

Five things:
New Years resolutions...

1. Be positive
2. Save money every month, don't spend money on silly things like random jewelery that i never wear and lunch at Marks and sparks
3. Be a bit healthier and more active.
4. Get myself organised, and don't leave things to the last minute
5. This will be the year of fulfilling my plans and dreams.

oh, and a couple more...
6. maybe drink a little less
7. Meet up more with friends I don't see often enough (actually that kinda cancels out number 6!)
